Let’s start with some reassurance. Fashion is fluid, so you can experiment and still keep in step with this summer’s fashion trends. In the last few years, colors and patterns have moved away from the traditional beauty standards. All body types can be fashionable, and all colors and patterns can work, too.

A Few Golden Rules

  • Dress for your body type. If skinny jeans look bad, go for a boot flare.
  • Mix up warm and cool colors. Try grey and peach together. The designers are doing it.
  • Keep the blouse and change the accessories to save money while changing your look.
  • Read the fashion magazines to get some fresh ideas

A Few Gentle Warnings

  • Don’t be discouraged by media influence. Be yourself and leave celebrity style to the celebrities.
  • Don’t let others define you. Cool women’s clothing comes in many designs.
  • Don’t forget to accessorize and buy some fun summer shoes.
  • Don’t wear a bikini if you look better in a one-piece swimsuit.

Who Makes These Fashion Rules?

Although the designers set the tone for the season, fashion and style are up to the individual. If you put it on and you feel good in it, then chances are you’ll look great. If you try it on and you feel uncomfortable with yourself, then chances are you’ll look not so great. This summer’s fashions cater to the super feminine and the tomboy. No need to squeeze into a mold. Break it and be yourself — wear the fashions that look good on your body and your personality type.

Are all male fashion designers gay?

Now this is more of a frequently asked question that has no frequently answered answer. People have always wondered why most male fashion designers behave like women. They seem to be so comfortable dressing up sexy women without becoming erotic. Just imagine the kind of nude models a male fashion designer will have to encounter every day. All though it is a part of the job, the experience is a little quirky, especially for men. How do they manage to do it?

This article is a frank assessment of male fashion designers. Although people may have impressions about male fashion designers, it must be said that most impressions are wrong. Most male fashion designers are through professionals who are driven by creative pursuits.

There is no way a male fashion designer could survive if he indulges in sexual abuse. Fashion is a multi-billion dollar enterprise. And most participants in fashion shows need to be as professional as professional can be. There is absolutely no time to entertain small thoughts of lust over a female body. Even if it happens, male fashion designers might use to fantasize erotic and exotic creations for these models. Any thought that comes to their mind is used for a constructive activity.

Now as to why male fashion designers act like women. Not all male fashion designers act like women. And not all male fashion designers are gay. When male fashion designers design clothes for women, they need to kick-in some feminity into their system. If they think like a man, there’s no way they are going to perceive beautiful creations and subtle colors that only the female mind detects.

Wearing Today’s Fashions The Right Way

Image Source: klearchosguidetothegalaxy.blogspot.comIf you can afford to change your wardrobe with each fashion season, then you are very lucky. However, just having the latest clothes, jewelry, and other things isn’t going to do you a bit of good if you’re not wearing them properly. This is where finding blogs that help you find your own fashion sense of what looks good on you can help.

What Should You Buy?

Even if you can afford to buy everything new that comes out, you should still ask yourself if you really need to. Instead of spending your money on all new clothes, can you buy a couple of good, basic pieces in this year’s styles then spend the rest on accessories that will update your last year’s wardrobe? If you can, you might want to consider doing this. If you see clothing by designers that you like and would really like to have, check to see if you already own accessories that can go with them. You can get some ideas on how to wear them with your new clothes.

Ask yourself, too, if a new fashion style really looks good on you. Media influence can play a big part in what is considered fashionable, but just because it looks good on the runway model or celebrity doesn’t mean it will on you. This is where you may Image Source: klearchosguidetothegalaxy.blogspot.com                                have to be brutally honest with yourself. Finding a style that fits you isn’t always easy, but is worth the effort put forth.

3 Common Fashion Myths

There are fashion myths out there that we have all heard. Some of them are so prevalent that they may even seem like more than myths.

Sometimes, these fashion myths have been around since the dawn of fashion. Other times, they may seem like common sense, but the reality doesn’t always translate correctly. Let’s take a look at three common fashion myths.

1. You can’t wear white after Labor Day.

We’re not quite sure where this one originated, but it is certainly no longer true. In fact, many fashion lines come out with white dresses, jackets, and more that are extremely prevalent in the fall and winter months each year. Just because it’s after Labor Day doesn’t mean you have to pass up that jacket you found! Pull out your Reach prepaid card, and get ready to dress in white.

2. Black is always slimming.

While black generally has a slimming effect, a piece of clothing is not always necessarily the best choice, simply because it is black. You also need to take into account the cut and style of the fabric. Consider what you are pairing the outfit with, as well. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that you will certainly look great because the fabric is black.

3. Fit doesn’t matter

This is most definitely not true. No one should be seen as needing to wear baggy or tight clothes, simply because of their body type. In fact, people should find clothes that fit them, and stick with that. A good fit will do wonders for any body type.

Mix It Up A Little When it Comes To Prints and Solids

Open the door to your closet and take a look around. Do you notice anything? Is it a great big mash up of all different styles, colors, and patterns or do you see way too much of one particular thing? Many times women find something that they like and they continue to buy the same type of thing over and over again. For functional items, like work clothes, this might be a good idea. But when it comes to everything else, it is important to mix it up a little.

Within your closet you need to have a healthy mix of solids along with prints and patterns. This gives you more options when it comes to pairing pieces together. Let’s say that some of your favorite Coogi clothes are all mostly solid colors. You can spice these items up a little with another patterned piece, a patterned jacket or even a pair of patterned shoes. What outfit wouldn’t look good when paired with a set of leopard print heels?

Jewelry is another way to add something extra to your solids. Your little black dress that works for so many different occasions can be styled with all different colors and patterns of jewelry to draw attention to you. A patterned jacket would look amazing when it reveals something solid underneath. Don’t be afraid to play with patterns and prints. If you aren’t sure whether or not two things go together, try them on and look in the mirror. As you look the outfit over, consider whether you like it or not and whether it stretches you out of your comfort zone.

Everyone loves going down to the local vintage shop or second hand store and searching for those preloved fashionable items. For those of us who has never shopped or worn vintage before there are a few ‘Do’s and Dont’s’.

The Vintage Trends website has more than a few items which you could add to your growing wardrobe, it can also be an asset to the beginner vintage shopper.

Don’t over vintage: Don’t create an outfit purely consisting of vintage clothes. Break it up with a few modern items as well. It will make the vintage piece stand out and look truly unique.

Do go for the simple pieces: A rather simple looking headscarf or shapeless dress could make the corner piece of your vintage wardrobe.

Don’t forget the sizing is different: Vintage sizes are different from today’s so before you rush home with your new dress or pants try them on in the store. It’s always tragic when you get home and it doesn’t fit.

Do alter your pieces: A vintage piece won’t always work as it is, and will sometimes need to be altered. A lot of the time a piece will need to be brought ‘back to life’. An experienced seamstress or tailor will be able to repair them.

Don’t wear incredibly dated clothes: Certain eras in fashion will be always considered classics but don’t over do it. A classic look can be quickly worn out.

However you wear it, as long as it works for you and feels comfortable it is sure to be a hit in your own wardrobe.

Fun Hollywood Trends: Dressing The Part

One of the most interesting Hollywood trends going around right now is that people are dressing their pets up in really cute costumes and outfits. There are a wide variety of popular Hollywood celebrities that are currently utilizing this trend, making already cute pets even cuter by dressing them up in a myriad of different ways.

Hollywood Pet Costuming Trends

Alyssa Milano has a dog named Peter Pan, who she has been seen dressing up like the dog’s namesake. Paris Hilton also has a dog that is named Peter Pan, but she dressed her dog up like a little baby duck. Tori Spelling dressed her entire family up as bumblebees for a photo shoot, including the family dog. Even Martha Stewart has been seen dressing up her pet dogs. There is no shortage of incidences where a famous celebrity dressed a companion in pet costumes for photo opportunities or simply for fun.

Celebrity pets are not the only pets getting in on the action. Pet costumes are becoming increasingly popular among pretty much everyone with a pet, primarily because they come in so many different styles and sizes. You can dress a pit bull up in a tutu or a Chihuahua in a motorcycle jacket. There are costumes to suit every pet and every owner, regardless of size, shape or personality. There are even costumes for rabbits, cats, ferrets and other small animals as well, depending on what you are looking for and the specific look that you are attempting to achieve. Media’s Influence On Today’s Childrens Self Esteem

Kids learn by the old adage, “Monkey-see, Monkey-Do.” And Today’s Media often adds to the problems of Child-bullying.

Many Children who have poor self-esteem are 50% more likely to be vulnerable to becoming bullies or prejudiced against classmates or friends that are of a different race or look different from themselves. Bullies try to make themselves look better to a group or feel better about themselves by “dipping out of someone’s bucket to add to their own” meaning that they find another kid or group of kids to put down in order to make their own image better. This type of bullying offers a sense of validation and power to the bully.

Children are at risk for being bullied or becoming bullies because they may think it is the “popular” thing to do. All kids want is to fit in with their peers, weather it be by owning the same toys that are new on Tv, or Having the right kinds of Clothing that are the most expensive or in the magazines. Bullying can start as early as kindergarten, and can continue on into teenage years and even sometimes adulthood.

The media offers images of Thin, pretty, clear-skinned people as the “right” way to look. If the child differs from that image, even in the slightest, they can be prey to being bullied and even hurt by violence. All children notice differences, and this only poses a problem when the “differences” of others are construed as a negative image.” While today’s media is working towards discouraging bullying and prejudice, much of the media still offers images of violence and an image of unattainable beauty or riches.
