However, just having the latest clothes, jewelry, and other things isn’t going to do you a bit of good if you’re not wearing them properly. This is where finding blogs that help you find your own fashion sense of what looks good on you can help.

What Should You Buy?

Even if you can afford to buy everything new that comes out, you should still ask yourself if you really need to. Instead of spending your money on all new clothes, can you buy a couple of good, basic pieces in this year’s styles then spend the rest on accessories that will update your last year’s wardrobe? If you can, you might want to consider doing this. If you see clothing by designers that you like and would really like to have, check to see if you already own accessories that can go with them. You can get some ideas on how to wear them with your new clothes.

Ask yourself, too, if a new fashion style really looks good on you. Media influence can play a big part in what is considered fashionable, but just because it looks good on the runway model or celebrity doesn’t mean it will on you. Mix It Up A Little When it Comes To Prints and Solids

Open the door to your closet and take a look around. Do you notice anything? Is it a great big mash up of all different styles, colors, and patterns or do you see way too much of one particular thing? Many times women find something that they like and they continue to buy the same type of thing over and over again. For functional items, like work clothes, this might be a good idea. But when it comes to everything else, it is important to mix it up a little.

Within your closet you need to have a healthy mix of solids along with prints and patterns. This gives you more options when it comes to pairing pieces together. Let’s say that some of your favorite Coogi clothes are all mostly solid colors. You can spice these items up a little with another patterned piece, a patterned jacket or even a pair of patterned shoes. What outfit wouldn’t look good when paired with a set of leopard print heels?

Jewelry is another way to add something extra to your solids. Your little black dress that works for so many different occasions can be styled with all different colors and patterns of jewelry to draw attention to you. A patterned jacket would look amazing when it reveals something solid underneath. Don’t be afraid to play with patterns and prints. If you aren’t sure whether or not two things go together, try them on and look in the mirror. As you look the outfit over, consider whether you like it or not and whether it stretches you out of your comfort zone.

Traditionally, shopping for an engagement ring was the responsibility of the man who is getting ready to propose. However, in recent years engagement ring shopping has changed. Here is a look at how modern couples shop, find and purchase their engagement rings.

The Traditional Way

The traditional way of having the man choose the engagement ring for his bride-to-be is still one of the most common traditions. This traditional way includes a man purchasing a ring that he believes is a good fit for his wife-to-be. The style, cut and clarity is a complete surprise to the woman, as the man is responsible for choosing the ring.

The Modern Way

More and more modern couples decide to make engagement ring shopping the duel responsibility of the couple. These couples will head to jewelry stores and make a joint decision on the type of engagement ring for the bride-to-be. This way of choosing an engagement ring allows the bride-to-be to have a say in what type of ring she wears. Modern couples have used this as a bonding event before the wedding, as it allows them to make a joint decision on something important.

The Family Heirloom

Some couples decide to use a family heirloom as an engagement ring. This decision can be made together or the man can decide before proposing. While this isn’t a way to shop for engagement rings, it is another common way that couples pick out their engagement rings.

The Best Designers of Fashion Week 2011

Here are a few of the designers that were considered the best of the best and are at the top of the fashion designing pack.

Oscar de la Renta offers a classically feminine look that never grows old and needs no trends to model after. Ruffles, lacey looks and printed dresses were also a clear favorite of his works, with many celebrities having boasted of wearing at least one piece of his careful work.

Many people have heard the name Calvin Klein, and Fashion week was no different. Calvin offered many classic whites in suits and dresses that offered a chic but minimalistic style to his line of work. He also had several bright, bold colors, not to be left out of the color trend with severe minimal looks that seemed to be a crowd favorite.

Ralph Lauren is also a popular designer and for spring this year, his look seems to be inspired by the wild west era and cowgirl fashion. Creamy colors with lace and fringes were a staple of his palliate, but he also made sure to include a few eastern looks with beads, skinny pants and poet blouses.

Proenza Schouler’s designs were all about uptown chic. Ladylike styles in tweed jackets and above the knee skirts started their line off,with breezy skirts, pastel colored blouses and button down jackets offering a diversity to the spring look. Another designer to embrace the color trend, they offered coats in several different shades, the most eye catching being a salmon pink.

Michael Kors was another fan favorite, his style mainly Californian laid back whites, though offering classic shapes, he stuck to the pastel trend and offered cool colors which was different from his bold colored designer counter-parts. Though he did add a splash of color when it came to his drape dresses, many in fuchsia pink and lemon yellow, the brightest spot in his normally cool-toned line.

Whatever designer you choose to favor, many this spring are offering  bright colors, embracing the sunny feeling of spring and pushing back drab darker colors of winter.
